The Tipton Valley Research Station is the first cotton researCotton in a field.ch field station in Oklahoma. The station sits on the level, highly productive soil of the Tipton soil series. It has been the site of a great deal of research conducted in the fight against verticillium wilt in cotton. It represents vast array of agricultural lands in southwest Oklahoma which are second-terrace areas above the Red River and its tributaries.

 

Research Focus

Soil fertility, irrigation studies, alfalfa, small grains, sorghum, bermudagrass and cotton variety and management studies.

 

Size and Location

The Tipton Valley Research Station covers 80 acres and is located four miles south of Tipton on Highway 5.
